António Madeira, who is French of Portuguese descent, has his roots in the foothills of Serra da Estrela. Since 2010, António Madeira has been researching, the places in this sub-region, that our ancestors elected as the best for vine, those that we might call the «Grands Crus of the Dão highlands» and found a series of old vines that are distinctive because of the authenticity of their grape varieties, the characteristics and nuances of their granite soils and sun exposures.
Beautiful aromatics already with sweet floral cherry and berry fruits. The palate is fresh, supple and fine with lovely acidity and fresh cherry and raspberry fruit. The sweet fruit hides the structure and acidity, which is substantial. Has some grip on the finish. This is focused and linear and quite serious, with nice brightness but also a potential for ageing.
2020 was a year impacted by the frosts at the end of March that caused important losses. Tinto 2020 is a red wine produced from the blending of several vines where there are many indigenous grape varieties, especially the Alfrocheiro, Tinta Pinheira and Jaen. This wine is a vin de soif with deepness and complexity.
